February 2019:  5 Friends Who Love Cereal.

There are only so many things to do on a Sunday night. Not to mention, the cafeteria that satisfied a freshman's hunger closed early on weekends, so what is a broke college student to eat? 5 of us figured cold cereal was the proper answer and routinely started to scavenge through several dorm halls in hopes of finding some milk in the vending machines for our cereal. After about three weeks of eating cereal together on Sunday nights, one friend proposed inviting others to join. With our generous meal plans we would provide milk and cereal, but people had to bring their own bowl.

March 2019:  A Flop?

After a week of informing people about our newly formed cereal group, we got a whopping... 5 people at the first meeting! So, we decided to amp up the hype.

March 2019:  Our Claim to Fame.

When Tik Tok was first gaining popularity, the BYOB fam decided to claim it's fame by making a video to the trending song "Pretty Boy Swag." Several accounts reposted the video and it received over 100,000 views.

March 2019: Gaining Popularity.

Pretty soon, BYOB was the talk of the town as people left other social events to join us for milk and cereal on Sunday nights.

April 2019:  New committee members are introduced.

Loyal attendance on Sundays and the saving of every cereal box consumed throughout the entire year won new friends positions in the club committee.

May 2019 - October 2021:   BYOBeRightBack.

Several committee members left for two years to complete full-time humanitarian service throughout the world. It was agreed to start the club back up when all members are back in Provo.

October 2021:   Rebuilding.

With a little more people and a little less money, rebuilding BYOB proved more difficult to start up again than we expected.  Attendance rates were much higher from the very beginning this time and we needed to problem solve with a bigger venue and donations to keep the club going.

December 3rd, 2021:  BYOB Becomes an Official part of BYU.

Problem solving meant looking into ways to receive funding our cereal endeavors. Working together with one of our professors, we decided to take BYOB to the next level by making it an official club.

Present:   We're BYOBack and Better Than Ever.
